RF CCI system

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (CCI RF) was founded by business circles of RF in 1991 in order to represent and protect the interests of entrepreneurs and their associations, out of ownership forms. 

RF CCI - the only association of entrepreneurs, whose activities are governed by a special Law of RF "On Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Russian Federation."

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation:

- represents the interests of small, medium-size, and big business and it encompasses all business sectors – manufacturing, domestic and foreign trade, agriculture, the finance system, and the services.

- promotes the growth of the Russian economy and its integration into the world economic system and it provides favorable conditions for the advancement of all business sectors.

At present the system built up by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry comprises:

• over 170 territorial chambers of commerce and industry;

• nearly 200 Federal-level and over 250 regional-level entrepreneurs' trade associations and similar regional associations representing the key sectors of the Russian economy; 

•  over 70 major companies delivering efficient performance in the key leading sectors of the country's economy; 

•  about 40,000 enterprises and organizations in various ownership categories;

• upward of 30 RF CCI committees responsible for various lines of activities and business sectors, some 800 committees, commissions, councils, other nongovernmental units created by territorial chambers; and other public formations set up by territorial chambers;

•  representative offices in foreign countries.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation gives practical assistance to over 40 Russian business councils formed jointly with foreign countries.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce, the World Federation of Chambers of Commerce, the Eurochambers, the Council of the Chairmen of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in CIS Member Countries, and other international and regional organizations.

The International Trade Center, Expo Center, Sojuzexpertiza, and Sojuzpatent associations that are well known in Russia in abroad, along with over 350 other enterprises and firms set up by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and territorial chambers of commerce and industry form the infrastructure that provides services to businesses at the federal and regional levels.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation provides the following services:

- expert examination of goods;

- appraisal of property;

-holding of exhibitions and fairs;

-intellectual property protection;

-information services and legal consultations;

-keeping of nongovernmental registers of experts in goods inspection and property appraisal, and -the Reliable Partners Register;

-verifying of force-majeure circumstances;

-execution of documents related to international economic activity; and

-accrediting of foreign firms.

Commercial dispute settlement institutions at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation:

International Commercial Arbitration Court;

Court of Arbitration for Resolution of Economic Disputes;

Maritime Arbitration Commission;

Court of Arbitration for Sport;

Association of Average Adjusters; and

Panel of Mediators in Conciliation Proceedings.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation has inherited rich traditions of the preceding generations of Russian industrialists and entrepreneurs, and is drawing up on their experience of cooperation with the public and government authorities.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation holds annually:

- the National Gold Mercury Prize Competition in the area of entrepreneurial activity; and

- the "Russia's Economic Revival" All-Russian competition among journalists; and

The following entities are affiliated to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation:

Mercury Club, which invites political and public figures, along with business and media people, to discuss problems facing Russia's economic growth, ways to support business, and drafts of economic programs.

Center of Support for Homeless Children, a charity foundation established by the Chamber as a revival of one of the Russian entrepreneurship's best traditions – philanthropy and charity.

Commercial and Industrial Pension Fund, an all CCI socially oriented project to offer pension benefits to enterprises in different ownership categories and to individuals, on an unrestricted basis.

The Centre of business information was opened to ensure the information needs of entrepreneurs in the field of business and commercial information, laws, customs regulations, regulations on foreign trade in the RF CCI.
