Russian government grapples with state budget
The Russian government has okayed the main parameters of a state budget for 2011-2013.
Speaking at a Cabinet session in Moscow on Thursday, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said that at least 981 billion rubles will be allocated for the development of the federal purpose programs in the next couple of years.
The Russian PM cited substantial injections into an array of projects pertaining to the country’s commercial aviation, shipbuilding, electronics and IT sectors.
Putin also signaled the government’s readiness to deal with a spate of social and environmental issues, including on protection of Lake Baikal, known as the world’s largest freshwater lake.
Separately, the government plans to continue to shore up Russia’s disabled people, Putin concluded.
