Norilsk to get more money for development

A 10-year program aimed to boost economic development of the Russian Arctic town of Norilsk will cost no less than 27 billion roubles (more than $874 million), the Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with shareholders of Norilsk Nickel, the world’s largest nickel and palladium producer, on Tuesday.
Mr. Putin said that the money for implementation of this program will be provided in equal parts by state and the Norilsk Nickel shareholders.
The Russian premier added that residents of Norilsk will have the option of moving to the Krasnoyarsk region to live in more favorable weather conditions.
