The Russian-Chinese (Guangdong) forum 2010 on trade and economic cooperation took place in President Hotel in Moscow. It was organized by people`s government of the province Guangdong in partnership with the Chinese Embassy in Russia and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. Guangdong representative office of material resources in Moscow accredited by the CCI of the Russian Federation became its executive organizer.

During the meeting some representatives delivered a speech: a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China, Van Jan - the first secretary of the party committee in Guangdong, Lee Huineng – ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Russia, Alexsander Zhukov - the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Georgy Petrov - a vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

Georgy Petrov emphasized that performance of the Guangdong province are impressive and also stressed that hardworking and purposeful people were the main wealth of this province.

There was also a signing ceremony of some agreements concerning the cooperation between both business elites worth about $380 million. It was mentioned that nowadays Russia and China were the most perspective partners for each other. These countries have a great potential. Guangdong is one of the richest provinces in China. Its Nominal GDP amounts to 12% of  National GDP.

A Chinese delegation of more than 300 representatives from investment companies, enterprises of electronic and light industry, transport and construction supplies also took part in the forum. These enterprises are leaders in their spheres. Trade, economic development and close cooperation between Russia and China are one of their main targets.

At the end, Georgy Petrov, the vice-president of the CCI of Russia, gave a small interview:

G. P.: Since 2002 the province Guangdong and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation have been working intensively. It became an annual tradition to hold the Russian-Chinese (Guangdong) forum on trade and economic cooperation. But, to tell the truth, only this year due to the visit of high-ranked guests we had such a representative audience of about 800 people, headed by Van Jan, the first secretary of the party committee in Guangdong. This visit was a special moment of the forum because the Communist Party plays a huge role in the economic development of China.

- What are the backwards of the cooperation between the Russian CCI and China?

 G. P.: We cooperate with Guangdong due to the work of the Foreign Company Accreditation Department. After the seminar in China that was a success, the number of Chinese companies that open their offices in Russia is rising. One should stress, that most of these offices are from Guangdong.

- Why?

  G. P.: Well, first of all because of the great meaning of this province in Chinese economy. The external turnover of this only province is more than that of Russia.

Guangdong, like many other Chinese provinces, began with goods of light industry the branch that even today is an indispensable part of our mutual trade. But nowadays high technologies, electronics, information and communication equipment make up the image of the province.

- Do territorial chambers take part in this cooperation?

G. P.: Yes, of course, presidents of territorial chambers took part in this forum. The cooperation with China is held on the highest level as well as on public diplomacy level. There is an important fact that regions are also involved. A great future is foreseen for them.

Sun Jie, the Commercial Corporation Deputy of material resources in Guangdong, made a comment on the preliminary results:

The forum was effective. Both sides signed some major agreements concerning business cooperation. Due to the Russian CCI many businessmen visited this event. They are interested in collaboration and are establishing a long-term business relationship which have rosy prospects.
