“UNIKOM” TODAY - a leading enterprise with experienced, highly qualified personnel

The oilfield equipment plant “Unikom” (town of Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk Region) is a leading Russian producer of technological equipment for the repair of oil and gas wells. “Unukom” today comprises five manufacturing workshops with state-of-the-art equipment, advanced machine and work stock production units; assembly-welding shops using automatic and semi-automatic welding, and a shop for the production of tractor trailer chassis.

Seeking to optimize the economic component and develop international cooperation, two years ago the company opened its office in Beijing.

Unikom’s production chain includes several components: designing of equipment, its supply, installation, warranty and post-warranty maintenance service. All technical solutions are based on its own projects (the enterprise has in its arsenal over 10 patents for inventions) or with the attraction of leading scientists of the country’s higher educational establishments. The company’s products are both distinguished by innovative approach and meet the requirements of all Russian state standards GOSTs (all-Union State Standard) and API standards. 

As of today, the enterprise’s stock list comprises over 30 kinds of equipment for capital and underground repair of wells. It includes self-contained units for the preparation of salting liquids, filtration units for the preparation of salting liquids and drilling fluids for pumping into the well, reservoirs, components for X-tree and pipeline accessories, polyurethane items and many others.    

“The services of marketing, quality control and delivery of readymade products to consumers play an important role. But the main secret of our success is personnel,” Solodovnikov says. “We  try to save precious time of our employees, and at the same time we demand the maximal efficiency and the best value for our money.”    

In the social policy, the company’s leadership sticks to the simple and clear principle: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Each worker of “Unikom” has career advancement prospects, he lust needs desire to work and initiative.     

It is initiative that is first of all supported and encouraged “in terms of money.” This allows the leadership to single out from the mass of workers those who are capable of further growth and who are not. The average monthly wage at the plant is 15,000 Roubles, and no upper limit is fixed. 

The work conditions at the plant are comfortable. In the morning the personnel are carried to work by bus, and in the evening these are transported home. Shift workers are accommodated at dormitories. The people are provided with all the necessities – from shower cabins to canteen. Thanks to the availability of the education center, almost all workers have two and more secondary skills.        

The main requirement to the personnel is desire to work and sense of responsibility.
